SUFFERN, NY, October 6, 1999 General Patent
Corporation International (GPCI), an intellectual property
management company, has entered into a non-exclusive
licensing agreement with ActionTec Electronics, Inc.,
a Sunnyvale, CA maker of modems and other communications
equipment. The licenses cover four GPCI patents protecting
aspects of PC card modems and other communications devices.
"We are pleased to extend licenses on these key
patents to ActionTec," said Dr. Alexander Poltorak,
GPCI's chairman and CEO. "Our proprietary rights
in communications technology and computer connectivity
continue to be highly regarded in the marketplace."
GPCI's award-winning technology is based on the U.S.
Patent Nos. 4,603,320 ("Connector Interface"),
4,686,506 ("Multiple Connector Interface"),
4,972,470 ("Programmable Connector") and 4,543,450
("Integrated Connector and Modem").
Among other companies previously granted licenses by
GPCI on this patented technology are IBM, Motorola,
3Com, Xircom, Boca Research and Zoom Telephonics.
